Nassau County is celebrating The Big Read - a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts is featuring Hammett and his classic masterpiece The Maltese Falcon.

A highlight of the Big Read celebration will be a special luncheon at the Ritz-Carlton, Friday January 29 featuring Julie Rivett, granddaughter of Dashiell Hammett. $50 a ticket.
