Fernandina Beach, FL - May 4, 2009 - Amelia River Cruises has been voted 2009 Winner of The New Wave Contest sponsored by WJXT News 4. In recognition of the support of voters, Amelia River Cruises has extended a special offer to buy one fare for Amelia River Cruises or Cumberland Sound Ferry and get one fare free when presenting printed page displayed upon completion of vote.

Amelia River Cruises runs seven days a week, three times a day with departures at 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and at sunset. River cruises offer narrated, historic and wildlife sightseeing tours with views of Cumberland Island National Seashore and sea life such as dolphins, manatees, alligators, sea otters, exotic birds and the wild horses of Cumberland Island. Amelia River Cruises offers group charters including weddings, funerals, field trips, business trips and other special occasions.

The Cumberland Sound Ferry runs six days a week (Tuesday through Sunday), departing Fernandina Beach, Florida at 10 a.m, 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. (special late ferry on Saturdays at 8 p.m.). Return trips depart St. Marys, Georgia at 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. (special late ferry on Saturdays at 9 p.m.). The ferry links two historic waterfront towns of Fernandina Beach, Florida and St. Marys, Georgia and provides water-bound access to the Cumberland Island Ferry out of St. Marys, Georgia.
